All my websites are designed with an inherent understanding of brand communication, information architecture, accessibility and usability.
I know that a good design must not only communicate brand and marketing messages but also visually solve all the problems asked of it and ensure all the small details work together to communicate the bigger picture, whilst being easy to use.
My experience has taught me that the right website design can only be achieved by working with you, the client, to get a detailed understanding of the design requirements. I don’t believe a website exists in isolation and I always consider how it sits with other pieces of communication, be them printed or other digital projects. I want your solution to reflect your company’s personality and future goals.
After our initial conversations, I unleash my own brand of unrestrained creativity on the brief to explore a number of different visual routes. I brainstorm extensively and if the project requires it, I also run controlled pilots and gather feedback. With the client’s input, a preferred concept is developed and applied to all key page templates to create a full-scale website mock up which is then presented to the client for final approval. This iterative and visual way of working, along with a functional specification and wireframe sitemap, removes the mystery from the process, with the client fully aware of what the finished website will look like.
This whole process allows us to achieve our ultimate goal – a website design that the client likes and is right for the business.
My approach to usability
With the internet an established communication medium, the end-user expects a website to look good, work perfectly and be easy to use. However a website’s usability is often overlooked resulting in a style-over-substance solution, frustrating the end-user and ultimately delivering a poor return on a client’s investment.

A brand not only needs to differentiate a business from its competitors but also reflect its strengths and values. My design skills and strength at interpreting requirements has led to me building a strong portfolio over the past ten years.
